John Bramston Olympic Games

Our very own John Bramston Olympic games began on Monday with a very impressive opening ceremony. Each class adopted a competing country and took part in an Olympic flag display. It was great to see the whole school together to begin this very exciting week. Our country is Japan. Take a look at the Japanese geometric patterns we have made.

How We See things

In Y6O we have been investigating how shadows are made and how we can change them. We made puppets and explored various ways of changing the shadow they create. We changed the distance of the puppet from the light, we explored different materials and we discussed how the angle of the light affects the shadow. We had fun exploring and investigating!

Balloon Buggies

Take a look at our Balloon buggies. We had great fun making them. We then designed experiments thinking very carefully about the forces that act upon the buggies. What could we change to make the buggy move further? We made predictions and then carried out fair tests. In our groups we collated and recorded results and then used our scientific knowledge to explain our findings.
